Katarzyna Walczewska-Szewc

Katarzyna Walczewska-Szewc has established a diverse career in scientific research, blending expertise in astronomy, physics, and biology through the lens of computer modeling. After earning an M.Sc.

in Astronomy from Nicolaus Copernicus University in 2008 and achieving dual Ph.D.s from Gdansk University and the Australian National University in 2015, her focus transitioned from the high-energy radiation emitted by blazars to a detailed exploration of proteins.

Her postdoctoral research at Nicolaus Copernicus University delved into the dynamics of the KATP complex. Since becoming an Assistant Professor in 2020, she has broadened her research to explore protein-protein interactions, particularly in the realm of neurodegenerative diseases, while steadfastly maintaining computational methodologies at the core of her investigations.
